Cindy Reid named housing coordinator

After a five-month search, the town has hired Cabin Creek resident Cindy Reid (photo) as its first affordable housing coordinator. Ms. Reid, who began work this month, is helping  negotiate and manage developer compliance with the town’s affordable housing ordinance.

Juggling and sports highlight weekend

Water restrictions now being enforced

Thursday night’s rain was welcome, but not enough to make a dent in the ongoing drought. Today, Charlotte-Mecklenburg officials begin enforcing restrictions on water usage, including alternate-day lawn watering, and bans on car washing and refilling pools. Fines start at $100.

Run for Green planned Sept. 22

The 2007 Run for Green half-marathon is planned Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8 a.m. along the new Greenway in Davidson. The day’s events, which begin on South Street, also include 5-k and fun run/pet walk. Proceeds will benefit the Davidson Lands Conservancy.
